Provide your child with a summer boost by taking advantage of our many programs.

Camp Keep the Conversation Going

A coed camp for children and adolescents ages 5-15. The camp is tailored to young people with social language impairments including those diagnosed with ADHD, PDD-NOS, High Functioning Autism (HFA), Autism, Nonverbal Learning Disorder, Sensory Integration, and Aspergers. Our groups focus on nonverbal communication, social thinking, social problem solving, and conversation skills. Our groups are customized to fit the needs of the children within that particular group. Curricula employed include models by Landria Seals, M.A., CCC-SLP.

Keep the Conversation Going focuses on increasing a child's ability to initiate, maintain, and participate in play and conversation. Keep the Conversation Going engages and targets the underlying brain processes that support “conversation” including, but not limited to, emotional engagement, social referencing, perspective taking, physical and emotional regulation, and flexibility.”-Seals, 2006.

KTCG Leadership Institute

KCG Leadership Institute is a coed work program for young adults ages 16-18. The KCG Leadership Institute is tailored to young people with social language impairments including those diagnosed with ADHD, PDD-NOS, High Functioning Autism (HFA), Autism, Nonverbal Learning Disorder, Sensory Integration, and Aspergers.  The KCG Leadership Institutes' focus is to provide young adults with a hands on experience and training in the job force by working as Junior Counselors at Camp Keep the Conversation Going. Junior Counselors will have the opportunity to experience the job interview process and be given responsibilities at the camp. These responsibilities will be carried out under direct supervision at the summer camp based on assessed appropriateness of their skill set. The curriculum also looks to provide exposure to various work environments and opportunities through off site trips to various organizations to see, hear, feel, and experience what goes on in different work environments. These skills are vital and valuable tools to prepare for transition to the work force as well as to be a more independent adult.
